Week Beginning January 3

Action Items

  • HOUSEKEEPING ITEMS TO START THE YEAR: please review these general items
    • Emergency Contacts: If you haven't updated yours in a while, please take a moment to review this information in myAW.
    • Dismissal from Advisory: Please keep students until 12 noon to allow LS to finish lunch. Before the break, some students were routinely getting to lunch at least 5 minutes early.
    • Study Halls / Office Hours: Please keep these as quiet, respectful, and focused as possible. If you are working or meeting with students at this time, please make sure to be strategically located to see as many screens as possible.
    • Timely: Shelli and I will walk the corridors as classes begin to help with an on-time arrival to class for the first few days. Please remind students to email MSattendance if they are late.
  • COVID PROTOCOLS: Please review Jake's email sent Thursday before the new year regarding new protocols and expectations moving forward. A reminder please to keep all classroom doors and windows open at all times when students are in the room. You may take your mask off if you are alone, but please never do this with students present. Please see the note below about air filters in your room and their maintenance.
  • PLANNING FOR 2022-23: As many of you know, schedule planning for MS takes many months to conceive and create, followed by months of negotiations with other divisions for space, cross-over teachers, and other resources. While I do not want to overwhelm or overload anyone, I would like to hear anyone's thoughts and gather together ideas and opinions you may all have to help create the most student-centered schedule for next year. If you are interested in sharing your thoughts, the MS Faculty Meeting this week is OPTIONAL but will be to use an idea-sharing time about schedules in order to support next year.
  • SUMMATIVE CALENDAR: Please add into these calendars any summatives you have coming up, this will help us track our student's progress and ensure no one is totally overwhelmed.
