Changes to the Week Ahead, Updates & Reminders

  • Finals: The final schedule is almost done and these timed assessments will occur on Jan 17 & 18. There will be a change in the schedule to accommodate a double block for each subject assessed. If you have a summative assessment due that week too before the end of the semester, please be mindful of the finals occurring. We will chat more about these in the MS Faculty Meeting on Thursday.

If you have a student whom you think would benefit from some one-on-one help from these wonderful USB students, please let myself and Andrea know.
  • Faculty Meetings for 2019: In preparation for our MYP Evaluation, we have planned out the meetings for the next year. Please make sure that these are on your calendars and as soon as the MS Office Coordinator spot is filled, these will be added to the MS Calendar too.

Action Items

  • Lessons and Carols: Lessons and Carols is on Tuesday, December 11, 5-7pm. All students and faculty should be in attendance. Families have been reminded of this in the Friday Flash. Could you please check and keep a record of the following:
    •  If a student states they will be absent, please state their parents should email or call with a confirmation of this.
    • If they are staying through from the end of school to the start of Lessons and Carols and not going home.

  • Pre Lessons and Carols: The majority of students will probably state through and so we will follow a similar format to previous years: a Christmas movie or study hall 3:15-4pm, then a pizza dinner in the dining room. Shelli and I will be there but any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Free pizza if you can!

  • Post Lessons and Carols: While the adults enjoy a festival drink and nibbles in the Great Hall, the MS students have a separate reception in the Little Gym. If you are able to help stick around and help Shelli and I supervise, for half an hour, that would be amazing and we would be very grateful for your support.

  • USB Tutors: A small group from the USB have offered to tutor any LS and MS students as necessary. They have times free most days from 3-4pm. Jeremy, Ann, and I are supervising this. If you have a student whom you think would benefit from some one-on-one help from these wonderful USB students, please let myself and Andrea know. So far I have Leo and Monee from 8th Grade interested.

Changes to the Week Ahead, Updates & Reminders

  • Last Week Before Winter Break: Please make sure that you have looked at this schedule and are prepared for the events. All are expected to participate even if your class or name is not specifically attached to an event. Please look especially closely at Grandparents' and Special Friends Day for those classes asked to present. If you anticipate an issue with any of these, please let me know ASAP.

  • School Pass: Anelisa has requested that we no longer use the Google Doc or directly edit School Pass. Here are the new directions:
    • Open School Pass but do not edit or change
    • Email Anelisa any absences, tardy students, changes to After School Plans that are different to what is on School Pass. Please title the email 'Attendance'.
