Week Beginning June 8, 2026

Here's the last blog posting of the 25-26 school year!

ACTION ITEMS

  • Field Day: Shelli has reworked the plan for between 1:00 and 2:00 on Field Day.  We are going to move the temporary tattoos location in case of rain, and now have the playground fully from 1:00 to 2:00 pm as well. Please read over plan carefully so you know what you are responsible for and where you need to be. Thanks!
  • Learner Profile Award Speeches: Please review the doc linked here to see who is speaking about whom! The certificates will be printed and ready for you on the day, but you are responsible for your speech.
  • Best fit criterion scores & MYP levels: In Toodle by EOD on Wednesday. Need help? Please find Kelly!
  • CP: Scores and comments in progress reports by EOD on Thursday.
  • Faculty End of Year Checklist 2026: This is the to-do list to complete before you head out for the summer. Feel free to start the bits you can whenever you have time. It will appear in the Blog until the end of the year, and time will be put aside during in-service to complete this list, too.
  • Course Reflection Data: All of this should be processed by the end of Monday. I will send you each an individual email when yours is completed and ready to review. The great news is that the average scores for our team remain high - great work, one and all!
FYI

  • i-Ready Results: Feel free to share if students ask about their progress. Almost everyone is done! The formal results will be posted along with the end-of-year reports, no later than two weeks after school is out.

First Aid & CPR Note:

With the end of the school year upon us, I'm preparing for the next and reaching out to gauge interest for those wanting to get their First Aid/CPR/AED certification renewed. I'm an instructor through the American Red Cross and will be hosting class(es) during our Fall in-services. The cost would be covered by the school and supplies provided. Exact dates and times are TBD, but once we get a head count these sessions can be planned around your division/department meetings.

The format is a "blended-learning" class meaning you must first complete the online modules and the complete the skills session with me in-person. The online training can be completed now and is valid for 90 days to complete the in-person class, or in as little as a few hours when you open your computers again in August after enjoying your summer. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Thank you,

Gabe Jiles, MS, ATC, CSCS

ACTION ITEMS

  • Progress Reports in Toddle Open: You are welcome to start to input best-fit scores as of Tuesday, June 2.

Please review this document with details about all elements of group and separate testing. Schedules can be found on the June i-Ready tab in the MS Schedule sheet. This also includes some changes to duties during break times.
  • Reimbursements: Jean loves a balanced budget, so if you have any receipts to submit, please do so this coming week. This is especially true of the Journeys or Common Ground groups.
  • Award Speeches: A reminder that for the Learner Profile, they should be very short and sweet! For the Grade 8 - no more than 3 minutes each (this includes pauses.....). Thank you.
  • Faculty End of Year Checklist 2026: This is the to-do list to complete before you head out for the summer. Feel free to start the bits you can whenever you have time. It will appear in the Blog until the end of the year, and time will be put aside during in-service to complete this list, too.

  • Departing Students: An email is set to go on Monday to all students who are not returning to AWS next year regarding getting their laptops reimaged. Their advisor has also been copied on this email.
  • New Students: All new students enrolled in MS received a welcome email from the MS this morning. If you would like to review it, it is linked here.

TODDLE TIPS & TRICKS

Progress Reports are open and ready for your scores! Please make sure everything except for CP is completed by EOD on Wednesday, June 10. Here are the slides from this week's faculty meeting if you'd like to review the expectations. For teacher name, let's stick to the teacher(s) who taught each specific section this semester. Reach out to Kelly if you've got questions or students you'd like to talk through.

Thank you for all your help in making CP Presentation Day a success! All CP materials will be ready for grading starting on Monday, June 1, via the CP Button at the top of your Toddle Homepage. A reminder that everything lives in the Process Journal this year, as well as the appendix at the very end of your group's presentation. Need materials digitally? Here are all the CP materials from the printed packet you received on Wednesday (organized in tabs).

Gators Got Talent Teacher Edition: Everyone, please fill this in with your thoughts on your role. You do not have to be a swimmer; in fact, we will need folks to help in other ways, too. Here is the survey.

 ACTION ITEMS

  • Course Reflections: To make this easier for teachers this semester, each of you will receive your own personalized survey with all your classes listed (except 6th Toolbox, 7th Milk Boats, all free reads, and OH). I hope this makes it easier for you to distribute and walk your kids through. This link will be shared with you so you can share it directly with your classes.

  • Sunshine Notes: A reminder that you should complete at least one Sunshine Note per student you teach at the end of the year. These should be personal and specific. Here is the sheet to track who you have given them to - Sunshine Notes Tracker 2025-2026.
  • Faculty End of Year Checklist 2026: This is the to-do list to complete before you head out for the summer. Feel free to start the bits you can whenever you have time. It will appear in the Blog until the end of the year, and time will be put aside during in-service to complete this list, too.
