Action Items
- Units: Angelica, Erik, and I took all your feedback on Managebac from the last few meetings and have decided to move forward with using Google Drive rather than Managebac next year. This will require nothing for you to do right now, and all the units in Managebac have been saved and will be again at the end of the year. During the next MS Faculty meeting and during in-service on Thursday, June 13, we will discuss this and other changes for next year and the impact on you. Please still do your reflections on your final units as you would normally.
- Reports and Course Summaries: Most of Thursday, June 13 will be devoted to subject report writing. Please start to work on these as soon as you can in order to leave sufficient time to submit these before the end of the day on Friday, June 14. Shelli, Ruth, and I will review and submit these reports on MyAW for you the following week. For now, please check over and edit your Course Summaries for Semester 2 this week. Please unitalicized once they are checked and edit by the end of May Day.
- End of Year Events: Please look over these schedules for May Day, Finals, Milk Boats, and the last week of school. Please let me know ASAP if you see any issues so we can make the changes ASAP. Thank you!
Changes to the Week Ahead, Updates, & Reminders
- Professional Conference Summary - END OF YEAR: Ruth has reached out to all of you returning next year to meet with me in the following weeks. She has kindly linked a document called Professional Conference Summary in your faculty folder. Please complete this prior to our meeting so we can use this as a starting point for our discussion. If you have been considering any sort of professional development this summer, please bring these ideas with you. Thanks for making the time to meet, I know it is a busy time of year.
- Transitional Meetings: These have now begun for all new students to MS. All students new to the MS and one of their parents, are asked to meet with me for a 30-45 minute chat about the up and coming year. During this meeting, each student gets to state share a little more about their interests, what they are looking forward to about moving into MS, and what they are most concerned about. It is also where each student gets to state his or her first and second choice for their Arts class. Over the last few weeks of school, please stop and say hello if you see new students and their families in MS. This is a big step for most and getting to know a few friendly faces prior to their arrival in August is a big support.
- Measles Update: Please read in the MS Flash and Paula's email to faculty and staff, regarding the update from Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the Measles outbreak.
