Week Beginning December 5, 2022

 ACTION ITEMS

• COURSE REFLECTIONS: Thank you to those who sent their feedback to the survey I shared. We will introduce the Course Reflection format and go over the reasoning for them in the Gathering on Monday. We will then run a practice run in Advisory on Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will be for CORE classes to administer these surveys. The Arts (6 & 7) and PHE (8) will do their surveys at the start of their classes on Thursday and Friday.

• MI TESTING: This will be held in regular Math class, starting with Grade 6 on Monday, Dec 12, and 7 & 8 on Tuesday, Dec 13. Please review the MS Sections Sheet, tab Separate Testing, to see which students need support and if you will be involved in helping with this. Thank you in advance to those folks who are. 

• COOKIES FOR FACULTY: Yup, I was wrong! These will be on TUESDAY, not Friday. Please make sure to get yourself a big box full :-)

• DRESS UP ENCOURAGED: It's not mandatory, but it is a lot of fun! Please see the themes listed below by each day if you are so inclined to join in Spirit Week. 

• LOTS OF EARLY DISMISSALS: Just a warning that there are many early dismissals this upcoming week. Soccer is easy because they all are dismissed all the time, but the three boys' basketball teams are each dismissed at different times OR in changing combinations throughout the week, so we may have some confusion. We'll make sure the rosters within the slides are accurate so you know exactly who should - and who should not - be dismissed early. 

• CHANGE IN FRIDAY AFTERNOON PLANS: The Advisory Challenge planned for Friday afternoon will be POSTPONED as so many students have an early dismissal for soccer and basketball games. We instead will have CLUBS as normal. 

• HOLIDAY TEA INFORMATION: We are trying to keep Holiday Tea information all in one spot, so here is a link to our Special Schedules Spreadsheet. On the Holiday Tea tab, I'll link to all the docs/directions you'll need for all parts of the day. Any questions, let me know. We'll also go over this on Wednesday at our MS Faculty meeting.

• MISSING STUDENT SUPPORT PLAN DOC: Following on from suggestions at the GLTM and using Heidi Gillmore's original template, we have created a doc to help students who have missed school gets caught up. We will discuss this more at the next MS Faculty meeting, but in the meantime, please review this. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.
