Action Items
- Homework on Thursday: It is Halloween, so please don't set any homework on Thursday that is due Friday. Thank you.
- Attendance of Meetings: There were a number of folks missing from our MS Faculty Meeting on Thursday. We rarely have these, but when we do the information is important and Shelli, Angelica, and I really do appreciate your attendance. If you cannot, and we know attendance is especially difficult for cross-divisional and PT teachers, it is essential that you please review the MS Faculty Meeting document. Please see us if there is something you need clarification on. We are here to help!
- LS Play: Unfortunately, due to the lack of space, MS will not be attending the LS Play that is occurring during the day. We hope that we will take MS students to the future plays that our students are staring in.
- Subject Reports: Just a reminder of these dates:
- Subject Narrative due: 8am Friday, November 8, 2019
- You each have your own folder to submit your narratives to linked here. Please send a quick email to Ruth. Clare, and Shelli, if you get ahead of the game and submit them prior to November 8, so we can start to review them. THANK YOU!
- Reports posted: 3pm Friday, November 15, 2019
Changes to the Week Ahead, Updates, & Reminders
- IB Webinars: For those of you interested in some of the changes we mentioned for MYP, here are the webinars I have been part of. They are really great and excellent PD if you have time to watch a recording of one.
- Building Quality Curriculum in IB MYP
- Transfer: Building a curriculum that is Conceptual and Connected
- Student Reflections: Please look at these and use them in your comment making for reports.
- AWSPA Performance Booked! On January 27th, the whole MS will be attending the Peking Acrobats at the Pantages Theater in Tacoma. A modified schedule will be created for that day. But please mark your calendars for this amazing event!
- Observations: Formal observations start next week and run until early January for our new teachers. Please note that peer observations are always welcome and I am happy to facilitate this if you would like. Otherwise, reach out to other teachers and spend 10-15 minutes watching another lesson. I have learned so much from doing these observations and it really is the best PD anyone can do!
