The new textiles lab got broken in today by our own MS! Malik led our kiddos in a great first after-school Arts session and it was wonderful to see so many of them trying their hand at some sewing skills.

• CONFERENCE PREP: Please review the Q1 & Q3 Conference Prep document that has an overview of the expectations for our next Conference Day and links to the materials you will need. 

• ED CARE: If you need ED on Conference Day, March 22, please complete this form. 

• GRADING & FEEDBACK EXPECTATIONS: As we are all looking at the gradebooks with the up-and-coming conferences, I wanted to make sure we were all on the same page regarding expectations of grading and feedback. You can review these basic expectations in the Middle School Norms: What AWS MS Faculty Should Know! 23-24 and in MYP Expectations docs if you want to review for yourself. Here are a few of the basics to help keep things consistent: 
• Engagement Scores: A student should receive at least one engagement score per subject per week and this must be entered into myAW. This could be for homework completion and submission or it could also be for being engaged in class. Shelli and I are happy to chat more about the specifics of how to implement this if you have questions. 
• Sunshine Notes: The expectation is that every student should receive an individual Sunshine Note for every class each semester. Please track who you have sent them to and who you have not. Now is a perfect time to send that note you have been meaning to.
• Formative and Summative Scores: All criteria should be assessed a minimum of twice each year in each subject. There should be formative practice that supports each criterion and this should be documented in myAW.
