Action Items
- Conferences:
- If you haven't heard from your advisee families, please email a quick reminder that Pick-A-Time closes on Wednesday at midnight.
- When families have selected a time, please send a Team meeting invite to the student for the specific time. Students whose parents will NOT be present with them may also need the link forwarding to that parent. Please talk in advisory and remind the students that they can forward this email to their parents as needed.
- Textbook Count: As Ruth requested in an email earlier this week, please fill in your section of this Google Sheet to let us know which classes have textbooks checked out. And, if so, the title of the text(s). If you have not given students any textbooks, please select 'No' in the Textbooks Distributed column (or just reply to Ruth's email and she will kindly fill it in).
- ATL REVIEW: Next week, we will begin mapping and articulating our ATLs. The work will start in the weekly subject meetings and Angelica and I are hoping that we can join you when you meet. This week, please confirm that your subject teams are meeting on the days and times stated below. If they have changed, please let Angelica and I know.
- Art - Tuesday P2
- Math - Wednesday P6
- Science - Wednesday P6
- LL - Wednesday P6
- LA - Wednesday P3
- IS - please confirm meeting day and time
- Design - please confirm meeting day and time
- PHE - please confirm meeting day and time
Changes to the Week Ahead, Updates, & Reminders
- 8th Grade Pen Pals: Starting soon, on a voluntary basis, 8th Grade students, USG, and USB students will be paired with a LS student and exchange video messages. Basically a penpal but with video. Shelli and I will meet with all the 8th grade in Teams during PM advisory to introduce this idea.
- Surveys: These went out in the Flash to parents and to the students on Thursday afternoon. If you would like to see the results, here are the links. There aren't many parent responses yet, but hopefully, with another reminder, they will respond.
Microsoft Teams Tips and Updates
As always, please remember to visit the AWS Technology Resources document frequently. There are a whole bunch of new resources shared by YOU all. Take a peek.
Updates from Sandra Bush
- Community Connections
- Vidigami: If you haven't had a chance, take a peek at the Vidigami albums for Spirit Week and for Virtual Learning. There are some super fun and heartwarming pictures in there!
- Health/Sanity-Saving Activities: In addition to the 5 min/30 min/1 hr+ ideas for individuals and with others on our Online Academic Continuity Resource Board, links to the Athletic department's Cardio Workouts have been added for your easy access! You can access them live or take a look at the archives! Have a family/individual physical-distancing activity that's working particularly well for you? Read an article recently you think would be worth sharing with others? I would love to hear from you and perhaps share it with others who might be searching for things to do/read! Send me your thoughts here.
- Cooking/Baking: Ok, ok, I hear you. No one's really up for sharing recipes. 😉 But my family is always looking for new things to make, so please do send some over if you have a favorite!
