Week Beginning February 26, 2024

For those of you who did not get to hear Karen Treiger tell her inlaws' remarkable story set in Poland during WWII, you missed a truly heartbreaking and intensely powerful presentation. Please ask the Grade 8 students about this and the impact this week's field trips have had on them. It also happens, that Karen's grandmother graduated from AWS in the late 1920's, and Karen got to tour around the campus after, which clearly brought her real joy to see the spaces she would have studied in and explored! It was a touching way to end such an emotional journey on Thursday afternoon.

ACTION ITEMS

  • Permission slips for Friday's dance will be passed out at the beginning of Period 5 today. Shelli will bring them around to your classrooms.
  • Please consider sending a Sunshine Note or two!
  • Field trips in Q4: If you have an idea for one, we need to know soon! Please let your GLTL and me know ASAP so we can ensure it can fit into the schedule and we have the budget. Here is the past list of activities.

FYI
  • Concussion: We have had a few bumps on the head for our kiddos recently. If any concerns, please contact one of our nurses on duty to evaluate the student.
  • MS Dance: Shelli has sent a reminder about this if you are chaperoning. Any issues? Please let her know regarding this coming Friday.
  • Bulletin Boards: Still no news on a delivery date yet, but fingers crossed it is soon!
