Week Beginning January 20, 2025

It turns out a student has already offered to share some sunshine on Tuesday, so I will not be able to make everyone appreciate how great the Bills are during Gathering :(

So, I cannot miss this (possibly final) opportunity to celebrate my team! Happy 3-day weekend, one and all!

ACTION ITEMS

  • Advisee Phone Calls: Please reach out by phone to your advise families, ideally before the end of the semester. This is in place of the narratives we used to write. You are welcome to start these as soon as you like. Please review the End of Semester Advisor Phone Calls doc for what to chat about and add a few notes to the special column in the GLTM doc.
  •  Attendance at Meetings: We have such a short amount of time for our GLTMs, and so much to cover that starting even a few late for the meeting can have a significant impact. I ask that we all make a big effort to be in the room and ready to go by 7:45 am. If you are running late, please text me. I, too, need to be better, so I appreciate us all holding each other accountable for this start time. Thank you, team.

FYI
  • MathCounts: Deanna (Nate's mum) has established an MS math team to compete in the MathCounts competition. They hope to practice in the Great Hall on Sunday, Jan 26, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Here is the ask, would anyone be willing and able to simply be present for this to occur on campus? There is nothing you need to do to help or support, other than be there so the practice can occur. If you can help, please let me know.
  • Hotbox: Ann Dicks has asked that we remember that should we leave any dishes in the hotboxes, those dishes must be scraped and rinsed clean. No food or trash can be left on them at all. Thank you!
  • Winter II Athletics start competitions this upcoming week. Early releases are below in green.
  • Bessler & GH: A reminder that there are US mock exams this week and that on Wednesday-Thursday, the Bessler and the Great Hall are out of action for our usage.

TODDLE TIPS & TRICKS
Here are the slides about end of semester reports from Wednesday's faculty meeting. Please reach out to Kelly if you'd like some help with Toddle or some support thinking about trickier best fit scores.
