Week Beginning January 27, 2025

Grade 6 Arts got to show off their talents at the showcase this week. Congrats to Lindsey, Dave, and Heidi for creating such wonderful experiences for the students to express themselves.

ACTION ITEMS

  •  i-Ready Testing: All hands will be on deck on Monday and Tuesday as we undertake the iReady standardized testing. For the next two days, I have moved the iReady testing tab in the MS Schedule doc to the first tab when you open it. PLEASE review this, as we have had to use a number of extra folks to support the testing.
    • If your name is in PINK then you are supporting testing for that section at that alloted time. If your class is the first period of the iReady, please ensure you review the directions for the testing on the morning slides. You should stay with your group the whole period, but you may be able to do work while they are engaged in the assessment.
    • Students should bring a charged laptop and reading book to each location. When they are finished with their assessment, they are allowed to read or draw. They are not permitted to use their laptops.
    • Extension cords (but no chargers) will be supplied to the Great Hall and to the Bessler Gym in case laptops are not charged.
    • Extra pencils and paper will also be available in the Great Hall and Bessler Gym.
    • Please make sure that all students get a break between each period, as they normally would. We will be supplying a treat in each space for the classes taking the iReady.
    • Please don't project the schedule to your class, as it does show the accommodations and students associated with this. This is private information.
    • Thank you all for your help!
  • Conduct Monitoring: As mentioned at the Faculty Meeting, we are moving to myAW and away from the free trial with Toddle. Here are the step-by-step directions to enter a conduct issue.
  • NEW Testing Accommodations & Push-In Support Request Form: As we start Semester 2, our Learning Support team won't automatically be in the classrooms they were assigned to last semester. Instead, we ask that ANYONE or ANY CLASS make a request for support for an activity or a whole class period by completing this NEW form, which allows you to select testing accommodations or push-in support. The old form has been discontinued, and the new link has been updated in the USEFUL LINKS below, too.
  • Black History Month Activity: During the GLTM this week, we will review these slides, but it is also helpful if you have already watched the video prior to the meeting as it is quite long.
  • Advisory Calls: These should now be completed. Please ensure to add notes to the GLTM for the meeting this week.
  • Semester Grades: They will be open by Thursday, if not before then. The deadline for submission has been extended to Wednesday, Feb 5. Please do this through the Progress Report to enter in Toddle.
  • Lockdown Drill: Please review the flipcharts in your classrooms for the procedures associated with this drill on Wednesday.

FYI
  • No Open Gym: Due to i-Ready testing, we are using the Bessler and it will need to remain set up with desks and chairs for these two days. So, no open gym this week during Office Hours.

TODDLE TIPS & TRICKS
