The rules are posted, balls have been purchased, and so the gaga madness begins! A big thanks to Ruth for setting this up and supervising. 

ACTION ITEMS

•  No Family Response for a Conference: If a family has not made a conference day appointment, please send out a quick reminder email to them. 

• Support at a Conference? Please let Shelli, Andrea, Vicki, and I know if you think you might need support during a particular conference. We will be around to help as needed all day.

• Conduct Infractions: Please be sure to use this system to report concerning classroom behavior. If a student or group of students is making it harder for you to teach, it is extremely helpful if we know about it and have a record of it. When we start seeing patterns, then we can send behavior concerns on behalf of the teaching team. Please note - if you need to send a student to me or to the MS Office because they are having such a negative impact on the class, please do send a Behavior Progress Concern directly. I will also then input that into myAW. 

• PSA - We have been in school for almost a full quarter now, so all students, including our Grade 6 newbies, are well-aware of expectations. Moving forward, if a student is not following PSA, please confiscate their laptop and send a Technology Concern through myAW.  Thank you!

• Did you give a "Focused Attention Needed," aka a 1? If so, there really needs to have been some communication home about this. This could have been through a progress concern, a phone call, a conversation with the student, or other means. But such concerns should not be a surprise during conference prep or at the conference. Please reflect on this and update the student and family as needed if you feel this has not occurred. We will also use the GLTM to discuss each of these students again, ensuring advisors feel prepared to provide guidance and answer questions. 

• Conference Materials (Shared Drive -> Faculty -> Conferences). A reminder for all Advisors
• Habits Review slides - to be used in Advisory by the advisor to go through the habits and explanations of each one. 
• Q1 Student Habits Reflection Sheet - this is the electronic version with tabs of strategies. You can make a copy and share it with students if you would like. But this can also just be a resource for you.
• Q1 Student Habits Reflection PDF - will be printed off for your advisees and left in the MS Office to be collected. Students should graph THEIR reflections on this to compare to their teacher's reflections. Advisors should keep this document for later reference. 
• Conference Slides - to be shared with your advisees as a template for the conference. This template will be shared in Toddle for you to access. 
• Q1 MS Conference Prep Directions: Students 24-25 - to be shared with the students to guide them through the process. This template will be shared in Toddle for you to access. 
• Q1 Conference Prep & Reflection Form Template - for advisors to take notes that might support the conference and to add notes about key things discussed. Please make a copy of this document and store it in your own Drive, not the Shared Drive. 

FYI

• Habit scores have been printed for students to review. These will be ready in the MS Office for advisors to collect on Monday morning, along with the Habits reflection sheets that students can fill in. 

• Math Placement Push Page to Grade 6 & 8 Families: Coming from Gretchen and the Math team on Wednesday. This will give families an overview of the next steps for math placement. 

• Care Package Notes for the Yellows of 2025: For those who may not know, the Development Office sends care packages to our youngest alums early in their first Fall Semester away from AWS. One of the beloved aspects of these packages are handwritten notes from Faculty, Staff, and their friends here at Annie Wright. There are two weeks left before these care packages go out in the mail! Please don’t worry about writing a lengthy note. We have postcards that are great for a few sentences (even just one sentence). Swing by the Development Office to pick up stationery. Drop off notes in the basket. Please fill out this spreadsheet with your initials for the alum for whom you wrote. Please help us make sure every Yellow receives a few notes.
