Week Beginning October 27, 2025

A beautiful morning view from around the school, thanks to Tracey's photography talents.

ACTION ITEMS

  • Pre-Conference
    • Reach out to any families not yet signed up for one last push.
    • Consider completing the Q1 Conference Prep & Reflection Form Template.
    • Let Clare (high-level stuff or major concerns), Shelli (behavior), Vicki (SEL), and Andrea (learning support or IAP) know if you have a conference that might need support.
    • Collect the Math Transition letters and the individualized Quarter 1 Attendance & Assignments Report from the MS Office before you leave on Thursday.
  • During the Conference
    • If the family is in person, distribute the Math letter (please see below) and the Quarter 1 Attendance & Assignments Report. Those not collected because they did not attend, please send them home with the student next week.
    • Ask if they have completed the GC registration and the Journey form in myAW. Grade 8, please ask about the passport. Please direct them to the MS Office if they have questions or concerns.
  • After the Conference
    • Add notes to the GLTM doc about any bits and bobs others should know. This should include information such as if they did not show or a heads-up to another teacher about the questions they asked, etc.
  • Math Transition Letters: These have been sent electronically, but paper copies will be printed and ready for advisors to give to their advisee families. We will distribute these to you with the student's name on them. They will be for the following classes:
    • All Grade 6 (generic letter about the placement process)
    • Grade 8 has two different letters:
      • Intro IM1
      • IM1 and IM2
  • Stonewall Books: Please return these to the MS Office so we have them in future years. About half have already been returned.
  • Quarter 2 Calendar: Is ready to go, although things in orange are still pending. Minor changes will occur, and the Blog is AWAYS the place to look for the week ahead. Please use the Q2 calendar for longer-term planning (A/B days, special schedules, etc.)

FYI
  • Registration has opened! A reminder that families should register their students with Grand Classroom and complete the form in myAW before the end of the day on October 31. Chaperons, you will be asked to do something similar with Grand Classroom soon.
  • PD on IA with Turnitin: Please take a look at this FREE PD on Monday, November 3. If you are interested, please let me know so we can arrange a sub as needed.
  • Catch Up Club during Conferences: Anyone with 5 or more missing assignments today received the usual email, followed by an additional one from me about possibly being on campus next week, 8:30 - 12 noon, to get caught up on this work. Advisors were also copied on this email, and a list of students can be found here. We will confirm who is "invited" to attend next Thursday via email. Thanks to Andrea, Jessica, and Beau for supporting this next Friday.
  • Advisory Photos: I managed to get to all but Parker (sorry - I will take yours at the end of MS Gathering on Monday) advisory today to get your group photo. If you had someone missing or would like to retake the photo, please do and add it here. I can switch any out as needed before the end of next week.
